Boston Oak Board & Batten Renovation
This kitchen puts a modern spin on the classic board and batten style, combining warm timber-look cabinetry with clean, contemporary design. The cabinetry is finished in Polytec Boston Oak Woodmatt, providing the look and texture of natural timber while offering the durability of a decorative board product.
As part of the renovation, the original scullery wall was removed to create a more open layout. This allowed more natural light into the space and improved the connection between the kitchen and living areas.
The design features subtle vertical detailing, integrated fridge and freezer units, and a handle-free look achieved with Blum Servo-Drive drawers and push-to-open cupboards. Two reeded glass display cabinets add texture and visual interest while providing practical storage.
Prime Porcelain Infinity Travertino was selected for the benchtops, splashback, and feature ledge, creating a soft contrast against the timber cabinetry. LED lighting beneath the overhead cupboards helps highlight the materials and provides practical task lighting.
The result is a warm, functional kitchen that combines modern features with timeless design elements.
