Skip to content Getting quotes from different kitchen companies is a smart move—but how do you compare them fairly? It’s not just about the bottom-line price. There are important details that can affect the total cost, the quality of your kitchen, and how smoothly your project runs.
Here’s what to look out for when comparing kitchen quotes:
Some quotes look cheaper because they leave things out. Make sure you check whether the quote includes:
Installation
Benchtops and splashback
Plumbing and electrical work
Appliances
Removal of your old kitchen
If it’s not written down, don’t assume it’s included. Ask.
If you have plans from another company we can compare and discuss any differences. Differences in layouts and sizes will impact pricing.

We use high quality, NZ made 16mm particle board for our carcass construction (including the backs – some companies use thinner back boards)

Not all board products are the same. If you have selected Melamine; We use 18mm colour board for the outside of cabinets (some companies only use 16mm) We use NZ manufactured board from reputable suppliers with sustainable business practices and low formaldehyde emissions.

If you’ve chosen something different such as acrylic, timber veneer, thermowrap or lacquered doors.
There are a wide range of options available for bench tops. Whether stone or laminate its best to ensure you are comparing like-for-like a slight change in bench top spec can made a big difference to your price.
Check your quote terms to see if the price includes additional trip to site to fit toe kicks after flooring (most companies exclude this in their quotes and charge extra for this) If we are aware that your flooring is going in after the kitchen we usually specify and include this in our quote.
